Wednesday: Let's Go on a Nature Scavenger Hunt

Camp gives us a chance to explore nature and really "stop and smell the roses." There are so many cool things happening in our environment that we may not notice when we are focusing on playing a game outside, climbing a swing set, or kicking a ball.

So today we are going to focus on our outdoor surroundings with a nature scavenger hunt!

Parents or caregivers:

make a checklist of things that can be found in your backyard or neighborhood.

Some ideas include:

  • spider web
  • pine cone
  • three kinds of trees
  • worm
  • fallen branch
  • feather
  • a robin
  • acorn
  • frog
  • butterfly

Send your kids out with the checklist and a pencil to see how many items they can find.

Magnifying glass optional!
