Support Our National Parks!

This week we are going on an All-American road trip! Although we may not be really leaving our house, we are excited to dream about the places we would go visit!

Have you ever been to a National Park? National Parks aren’t your run-of-the-mill neighborhood park – rather, they are beautiful and often vast natural wonders that are a part of our country’s landscape. It may be something as grandiose as the Grand Canyon.  It may include man-made structures or a cool historic building.  A National Park may also just be a great place to hike and embrace nature.

Did you know that National Parks really love visits from kids? In fact, all fourth graders can visit National Parks for FREE!  More details here:

So, what can you do now to learn about and support our national parks?

  • Take a Virtual Visit:  Many of our national parks are now online! Get an insider view of what is happening and even watch the Old Faithful Geyser erupt at Yellowstone National Park.
  • Listen to Junior Ranger Radio:  Here you’ll find songs about the parks and news you can use as a junior ranger. You’ll be a pro before you even visit a park!
  • Complete activity books about the parks: Learn about different elements of the parks from railroads to caves.
  • Plan a trip! It could be that you live close to a National Park and don’t even know it! Sign up and download one of their great travel guides and commit to one visit in the next year!
