Welcome Week: Exercise of the Week! Camp Beyond Dance Party Brought to you by Naturepedic!
Did you know that exercising regularly leads to better sleep? That’s because your body is working hard during the day, so it’s ready for rest at night!
Each week of Camp we’ll be challenging you to a new exercise, that you can practice all week long! We’re going to start off easy this week with a dance party! Grab a friend, put on your favorite song, and dance until the song ends. It’s that easy!
If you’re looking to learn some new dances, here are some of our favorites:
Slowing Dancing – Turn on a slower song and move as slow as you can. Be sure to exaggerate your moves and use your entire body, including your face and all the way down to your toes. Try ‘flossing”, twisting or spinning in slow motion!
Freeze Dancing - Turn on your favorite music and dance however you like, but the second the music stops so do you! Hold your pose until the music starts again whether is with your arms in the air or your leg kicked out.
Animal Dancing – Turn on an energetic song, choose an animal and for 20 – 30 seconds, pretend to dance how you think that animal would dance. Then choose another animal until you are all danced out! What do you think a kangaroo’s, monkey’s, or dolphin’s favorite dance move would be?
