After a long week of staying active, it is super important to give your body the rest that it needs! One of the best ways to recharge and relax can be done with the practice of Yoga. Yoga provides so many wonderful benefits that can help improve our daily lives! Some of the benefits include enhancing our strength, coordination, and flexibility. It also encourages healthy habits, all while promoting a sense of calmness. Here are a few of our favorite kid-friendly yoga poses that can help connect your mind and body:
Warrior II Pose: Stand up straight with feet parallel to one another. Step back with one foot and angle it outwards. Bend your front knee to be slightly in a forward lunge position. Then, bring your arms straight across your chest and look up.
Tree Pose: Stand up tall on one foot and turn the opposite knee outwards. Next, place the sole of the opposite foot onto your inner thigh. Place your palms together right in front of your heart. This pose is great practice for balance and stability.
Downward-Facing Dog: Start off standing tall with your feet parallel. Next, bend all the way forward with your palms on the ground. Take a couple steps back to imitate an upside-down V shape with your body. This pose is an easy, yet effective stretch that also provides a burst of energy.
Cobra Pose: Lie on your belly and place your palms facing down, next to your shoulders. Use your arms to press up and lift your head and shoulders off the floor. This pose helps strengthen the spine and stretch the shoulders, abs, and chest.
